Hemangi Sawant is an award-winning author, business owner, singer, and speaker.

Her debut memoir, Denver to Mumbai—A Story of Returning Home, is the winner of the 2026 PenCraft Award for Literary Excellence, the Spring Best Book Award (Nonfiction-memoir), the 2026 13th Annual Pacific Book Awards (Best Memoir) and was named Finalist in the National Indie Excellence Awards 2026; it is also an Amazon Bestseller.

As a seasoned information technology professional, she has worked for companies such as Compuware Corporation, Comcast, and Leprino Foods for over a decade and now owns a software firm with her husband.

Hemangi loves studying human behavior and holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Bombay University and a Diploma in Management.

Despite a successful career in IT, Hemangi made a conscious decision to devote her time and energy to writing. She has authored her debut memoir, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to this journey.

A well-versed speaker with effective Master of Ceremonies skills, she has shouldered the responsibility for a national-level award presentation in India, in addition to serving as an MC in America.

Hemangi lives in Houston, Texas, and when she is not working or writing, she relaxes, singing Bollywood songs.
